Virtual Event Features Interview with Dark Cubed CEO Vince Crisler
 and Results of New National Survey of Local Tech Leaders   

Washington D.C. –The Computer Technology Industry Association (CompTIA), the leading trade association for the global information technology industry, and its Public Technology Institute (PTI) will host a virtual event Oct. 29 designed to connect local government tech leaders with leading cybersecurity experts from both the public and private sectors.

The Cyber Leader Summit will take place online from 1 pm to 4 pm (Eastern) on Thursday, Oct. 29. The event is open to government employees and industry professionals. Registration is required.

“Cybersecurity is consistently named as one of the most important issues facing local government IT leaders,” said Dr. Alan Shark, Executive Director of the Public Technology Institute. “The Cyber Leader Summit offers a virtual platform to connect with peers and thought leaders to explore the most pressing issues facing our local and state governments during these uncertain times.”

Participants will hear from frontline tech leaders from across the country who are responding to cybersecurity risks and working to secure their IT operations. Live and recorded segments will feature chief information security officers, IT directors, and networking and security experts from both the public and private sectors discussing best practices and applicable lessons.

The Cyber Leader Summit will kick off with a one-on-one interview with Vince Crisler, Founder and CEO of Dark Cubed, a growing cybersecurity firm based in Alexandria, Va. Crisler will discuss the current state of cyber threats and the critical issues facing local governments and private companies today. 

Crisler is a proven cybersecurity and IT strategy leader with deep experience in the private sector and within the federal government. He has extensive experience supporting the U.S. Department of Homeland Security on the development and implementation of cybersecurity technologies. Previously a Communications Officer in the United States Air Force, Crisler has also worked in the White House and the Pentagon. In these roles, he developed his skills in translating technical challenges for nontechnical audiences and executing strategic IT objectives.

Other speakers at the Cyber Leader Summit represent cities and counties of all sizes as well as state government agencies and the private sector. Check out the full agenda for session descriptions and speakers.

The Cyber Leader Summit will close with a presentation of the 2020 Local Government Cybersecurity Survey. This national survey dives into specific issues facing local tech leaders each year to identify trends and shed more light on the types of programs and solutions that are being used within local governments.
