The CompTIA Community - UK & Ireland brings together technology business professionals from across the UK and Ireland to discuss both regional opportunities and global trends. We offer industry leaders the opportunity to gain valuable insight, share best practices, and collaborate to grow their businesses and showcase how technology and technology companies solve business challenges.

Join an Interest Group

Members of the CompTIA Community - UK & Ireland can choose to get involved with one or more interest groups dedicated to an important technology industry topic. Interest group members participate in initiatives, provide thought leadership and work together to solve common business problems. Current CompTIA Community - UK & Ireland interest groups include:

  • DEI: Focused on technology workforce issues, including diversity, equity and inclusion in the tech industry
  • Cybersecurity: Focused on helping tech businesses strengthen and build a cybersecurity strategy
  • Emerging Technology: Focused on identifying business use cases for transformative technology solutions
  • Managed Services: Focused on sharing best practices and business strategies for managed services providers

How We’re Making an Impact

We offer meetings, events and initiatives in a vendor-neutral environment that highlight thought leadership and business guidance through networking, collaboration, peer-to-peer learning and best practice sharing in order to:

  • Advance technology businesses and the customers they serve.
  • Highlight innovative technologies and business use cases.
  • Promote organizational diversity to create a fair and equitable workforce and help fill the many open roles across the tech industry.

Leadership

Every regional group is guided by an executive council, made up of leaders chosen from the regional group by members. The executive council, which includes a chair and vice chair, collaborates with the CompTIA Community to establish the regional group's priorities, initiatives and strategies.

Hollie Whittles is an award winning TEDx speaker and Director of two digital companies. Her passion is to EDUCATE, ENTERTAIN and ENGAGE.

Spending more than 5000 hours speaking to audiences across the UK, she has helped hundreds of business owners to grow their businesses. Hollie is in constant demand. Her charismatic and knowledgeable approach empowers people to get the results they want through adoption of the right technology, strategic planning and digital marketing.

In 2020, Hollie was nominated as one of the top 40 Women in Tech. She was presented with a certificate from the British Computer Society for her work in the UK digital industry in 2018 and was awarded a certificate of recognition by the Woman Who Awards. In 2014, Hollie was voted one of the Top 50 Women in Tech by PCR Online and was Woman of the Year finalist.

Hannah Lloyd is VP Channel Sales at inSOC Inc, an international provider of Security Operations to managed service providers and managed security service providers.

Hannah joined inSOC  in 2019 after previously spending 5 years at Inbay where she worked her way up through the business from Inside Sales Representative to Senior Channel Manager. At inSOC, Hannah is responsible for new business and managing the major accounts of MSP and MSSP partners in the UK, US, Benelux, Asia and Australia whilst also representing inSOC at international and virtual events.

She was one of just three young leaders to be honoured as a ChannelChanger by CompTIA for 2018, and again in 2020, a programme that honours young professionals who are excelling in their roles within IT Channel organisations. She was also named one of PCR’s top women in Tech in 2020, and a finalist for CRN’s UK Rising Star Award in 2021.

Hannah was also honoured as the youngest ever recipient of the prestigious Member of the Year award by CompTIA in 2021 at the age of 28. She was commended for her dedication and passion for the technology industry, contributing to global initiatives including those focused on advancing women In technology, cyber security and Em Tech along with those closer to home in the UK community, including topics revolving around workforce, diversity and MSP growth. She is now serving as the Chair of the UK Business Technology Executive Council for CompTIA after spending 2 years as Vice Chair.

Tracy has over 36 years’ experience working in tech from programming to training, service delivery and management, as well as working to run and implement business systems in automotive manufacturing. As a tech mentor, Tracy has worked with both men and women around the world to help advance their businesses.

She has taken part in several funded initiatives to deliver IT advice to SME’s, has been a part of the Police run Staffordshire Online Fraud Forum, is an Advisory Board member of one of the UK’s Cyber Resilience Centres, and was one of the authors of a business standard for IT companies called Accredit UK.

An active member of the UK Business of Technology Community, Tracy is also a member of the Education Faculty delivering training, webinars and talks for CompTIA members around the world. Her duties as a Board director have included chairing the Governance Committee followed by the Audit, Finance and Investment Committee, as well as sitting on the Executive Committee.

She founded Maximity, an IT training and consulting business specializing in end user education and awareness, in 2000 and co-founded Prizm Solutions, an insurance brokerage, with her husband in 2006.

Tracy is a member of the Chartered Management Institute, a Fellow of the Institute of Consulting, a PRINCE 2 practitioner and a member of the Federation of Small Businesses and Chamber of Commerce.
